It is the true story of Mike May, a businessman living in Davis, CA, who was blinded at age 3. The book recounts his life, one of adventure... Very good true story of a man, blinded at a young age, who regains sight through an advancement in surgery techniques. The first third to half of the book is the story of May's life and of his decision-making process on whether to go ahead with the risky surgery. The second half of the book describes how he handles his sight, his setbacks,... Mike May's story is amazing. I even liked the 'side stories' about his wife's life, his mother's life, etc. But boy, was it annoying to read 'crashing through' as many times as it appeared in the book and odd that the author called Mike by his last name through the entire book.
