I really enjoyed this book overall. I always loved reading this type of "short chapters on interesting women" book as a kid, and it is fun to revisit that. (I would say that there are entries in here that aren't appropriate for kids, but then I think back to the non-fiction I read as a kid and I can't really say that haha.) One thing... One of these days I'm going to have to just accept not everyone likes things ordered in chronological fashion. Sigh. Awareness of rigidity doesn't seem to go far some days. Here, the mini-biographies are listed in order of violence of content, starting with G-rated lives, getting progressively worse throughout the book all the way up... It's only January but I'm pretty sure that this will still be the highlight of my reading year by the time 2017 ends. If you're interested in history (particularly the lesser known kind), you're a feminist, you appreciate art, and/or you're a human being (kind of assuming that last point grabs a lot of you if the others don't) then...
